SPRING SOWING INCREASED BY 15-20 PERCENT

This year, spring sowing started on May 9 and sowing has been made to 490.2 thousand hectares of areas, including 375.1 thousand hectares for grains of which 358.3 thousand hectares for wheat, 17.4 thousand hectares for potatoes, 8.5 thousand hectares for vegetables, 56.1 thousand hectares for oil plants, 28.8 thousand hectares for fodder plants and 3.5 thousand hectares for fruits and berries.

The sowing has been increased by 15-20 per cent, as planned

The sowing plan of wheat has been over fulfilled by 100.4 percent, potatoes by 117.0 percent and oil plants by 135.2 percent respectively. Moreover, the sowing of vegetables and fodder plants is estimated to be higher. 

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the sowing of wheat increased by 10.6 percent, potatoes by 18.1 percent and vegetables by 26.5 percent.
