SECURITIES TRADING DECREASED BY 23.9 PERCENT IN APRIL

In the first four months of 2020, securities worth MNT 11.8 billion were traded at the national stock market, showing a decrease of MNT 58.7 billion (83.2%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

 

In April 2020, 2.3 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 9.5 billion were traded at the national stock market, decreased by MNT 718.2 million (23.9%), and traded amount decreased by 2.2 million (19.1%) pieces of securities compared to the same period of the previous year. The total turnover of stocks decreased by MNT 1.1 billion (32.5%) and by 0.9 million pieces (8.8%) from the previous month.

 

In April 2020, an average of indices of the top 20 financial markets was 16631.2 units, decreased by 1577.0 units from the previous month, and by 3487.3 units from the same period of 2019.

 

In April 2020, the total value of joint-stock companies operating at stock markets reached MNT 2.4 trillion, decreased by MNT 59.0 billion (2.4%) from the previous month, but increased by MNT 17.0 billion (0.7%) from the same period of the previous year.

 

The monthly average exchange rate of MNT to US dollars announced from Bank of Mongolia in April 2020 was MNT 2783.16 to one USD, depreciated by 5.6% from the same period of the previous year and by 0.5% from the previous month.

 

The monthly average exchange rate of MNT to the Chinese Yuan announced from Bank of Mongolia in April 2020 was MNT 393.46 to one CNY, depreciated by 0.3% from the same period of the previous year, while it is appreciated by 0.3% from the previous month.

 

The monthly average exchange rate of MNT to Russian Ruble announced from Bank of Mongolia in April 2020 was MNT 37.06 to one RUB, appreciated by 9.1% from the same period of the previous year and appreciated by 1.1% from the previous month.
