LIVESTOCK BIRTHING AT 98.4 PERCENT NATIONWIDE

Nationwide, 98.4 percent of total dams have delivered offspring and the mortality rate of livestock offspring is low. However, the situation has been difficult in the aimags of Arkhangai, Khuvsgul, Bulgan, Uvs, and Zavkhan due to large amounts of snowfall. Thus, fodder is being delivered as assistance to seven soums of Arkhangai aimag, and three soums of Khuvsgul aimag as starters.

Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry Development Policy and Coordination at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry D.Batmunkh said, “Cases of livestock mortality have been higher than other aimags in Zavkhan, Arkhangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentii aimags. An emergency workforce has been established for the current situation.”
