Home News DONATION OF MNT 391 MILLION HANDED OVER TO CHINA DONATION OF MNT 391 MILLION HANDED OVER TO CHINA On March 13, a ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hand over the donation raised by the ‘Aid from the Heart to our Eternal Neighbor’ campaign mounted by the Government of Mongolia to support the fight against COVID-19 outbreak. Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat, Deputy Minister of Finance Kh.Bulgantuya, and the staff of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia led by Ambassador of China Chai Wenrui attended the handing over ceremony of the MNT 391.6 million donation raised by government organizations, 43 businesses, and 188 citizens of Mongolia. At the event, Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar expressed his pleasure at giving the donation collected during the campaign aimed at assisting China in the battle against the disease and demonstrating Mongolian people’s solidarity with the Chinese people. He also voiced the hope that the aid would be of significant help, quoting Mongolian words of wisdom – ‘A needle in need is of greater use than a camel in prosperity’. In his remarks, Ambassador Chai Wenrui extended his deepest gratitude to the Government, companies, and the people of Mongolia for conducting the campaign to show their support for China and its people amid the crisis. “As Minister Tsogtbaatar has pointed out, this shows that the relationship between our two countries is developing as an example for neighbors to follow and that our comprehensive strategic partnership is moving to the next level,” he said.
