TIME DEPOSIT INCREASES BY MNT750.3 BILLION

At the end of February 2020, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 966.4 billion, increased by MNT 112.3 billion (13.1%) from the same period of the previous year. The current account reached MNT 2.9 trillion, increased by MNT 26.2 billion (0.9%) and currency outside depository corporations reached MNT 625.7 billion, increased by MNT 48.6 billion (8.4%) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of February 2020, the time deposit in domestic currency amounted to MNT 10.9 trillion, increased by MNT 108.4 billion (1.0%) from the previous month and by MNT 750.3 billion (7.4%) from the same period of the previous year.

The composition of the total time deposit in domestic currency shows that 86.2 percent (MNT 9.4 trillion) were individual deposits and 13.8 percent (MNT 1.5 trillion) were corporations’ deposits.

The time deposits in foreign currency amounted to MNT 3.7 trillion, increased by MNT 96.7 billion (2.7%) from the previous month and by MNT 616.2 billion (20.3%) from the same period of the previous year.
