Home News ULAANBAATAR MAYOR MEETS EU AMBASSADOR ULAANBAATAR MAYOR MEETS EU AMBASSADOR On March 03, Ulaanbaatar city Mayor S.Amarsaikhan held a meeting with European Union delegation led by Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Laurentiu Hristea. The meeting touched upon projects within the partnership between Ulaanbaatar city and the EU, such as a project to upgrade public bus depot, Solid Waste Modernization Project and Green Affordable Housing project in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development After noting his eagerness to provide support for organizing and promoting ‘EU Open Day’ event in Ulaanbaatar city, Mayor S.Amarsaikhan confirmed that he will be meeting with EU Ambassadors to Mongolia during the upcoming 12th meeting of resident and non-resident ambassadors of the EU member states to Mongolia. Ambassador Traian Laurentiu Hristea informed that this year’s EU Open Day is scheduled on May 16, Saturday and the first ever ‘Nogoonbaatar’ International Eco-Art Festival will take place in the same month. In the scope of the festival, Mongolian and European artists will work with youths to develop key messages using arts in order to make Ger district a better place to live. In conclusion, the Ambassador also informed to the Ulaanbaatar city Mayor on the process of the affordable housing project in Ulaanbaatar city, which is awaiting approval by the Council of the European Union.
