MINISTRY OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE MEETS WITH EXIM BANK OF CHINA

Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture B.Batzorig received a representative of Export Import (EXIM) Bank of China.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues regarding the implementation of a bid to build an grain elevator for storing seeds and seed products, and for supplying technology and equipment for the a dairy refrigeration facility. These projects would be financed by a loan granted by the Chinese government to the Mongolian government. 

Through the Chinese government loan program and with an investment of 20.4 million USD an elevator to store 91,000 tons of grain can be built and with the dairy cooling equipment, fresh dairy products could be supplied to the Mongolian market with less reliance on imported powdered milk.

The two sides exchanged views and decided to study and review several important issues for consideration of approval at an agreed upon time.

Production of dairy products is a main priority in the food production sector, and the construction of the cooling facility and grain elevator are considered important issues for the nation
