THIS SUMMER

Last autumn the City Representative Council approved the program for “Ulaanbaatar Welcomes You”. This took place at a regular meeting on 22^nd September 2014.

Under this program, the Council is working on three phases; firstly,  to increase tourism revenue to the city by up to 20%, secondly, to increase the number of tourism and hotel staff by 35000, and, thirdly to increase the  number of tourists by 2 million in 2020; and  5 million in 2030. 

This summer’s programme for introducing Mongolian art and culture contains a lot of new tourism oriented events:

• 5^th June  “Vienna Night” -  on Chinggis Square

• 6^th June “Ulaanbaatar Marathon” – on Chinggis Square

• 27^th June “UB Dance Festival”  – on Chinggis Square

• 27^th-28^th June “Play Time” live music festival –in Mongol Shiltgeen, Gachuurt Village

• 4^th July  “Best of Classic” classic night – on Chinggis Square

• 5^th July “Jazz of the Great Steppe” international jazz festival- in the street of Tserendorj

• 6^th-9^th July  Competition of professional Morin-Khuur (horse head fiddle) players – at the University of Culture and Art

• 10^th July   “The Great Labors of Ulaanbaatar ” musical

• 10^th July  "Mongolian Naadam with Deel" – on Chinggis Square

• 10^th July  "Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi" opera – on Chinggis Square

• 11^th July “Sacred Spring” ethno-ballet

• 11^th July  "Ulaanbaatar Night" – on Chinggis Square

• 12^th July “Silence White” DJ show– in Children Park

• 12^th July  "Mongolian Dance Festival" – in Drama Theatre

• 12^th July “Colors of Mongolia” honorary concert

• 13^th July International Festival of Morin-Khuur  (horse head fiddle) – on Chinggis Square

• 1^st August  International Food Day – in the Children’s Park

• 7^th August “Glory Hall” rock pop concert– on Chinggis Square

• 8^th August “Danshig Naadam Khuree Tsam” Culture Event of Zanabazar–in Khui Doloon Khudag

• 8^th-9^th August  “Ulaanbaatar Food” festival– in Viva City
