REVENUE FROM RAILWAY TRANSPORT INCREASES BY 9.4 PERCENT

As of first 10 months of this year, 23.0 million tons of freight and duplicated number of 2.5 million passengers were carried by railroad transport. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the carried freight increased by 2 million tons or 9.4 percent and number of carried passengers increased by 304.1 thousand.

39 percent of carried freight by railway transport was domestic freight, 36.1 percent was exports, 10.8% was imports and 14.1 % was transit, which means transit and export freights increased by 0.8 and 0.3 points respectively, whereas domestic and import freight decreased by 0.7 and 0.4 points from the same period of the previous year.
