Home News INT INT An international seminar themed “Governmental role in the mega minerals projects” commenced on Sunday in the “Consensus” hall at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Co-organized by the International Cooperation Foundation of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Canada International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII), the workshop brought together administrative officials of the Ministries of mining and mineral affairs of Mongolia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos and Myanmar. Main objectives of the event were to share best practices among Mining Ministries of the countries in forms and levels of governmental role and participation which leads to successful implementation of the mega mining projects and to exchange views on ways of tackling challenges and on adequate measures. As a part of the seminar that will last until May 18, the participants will visit underground development site of the Oyu Tolgoi mine.
