SOUTH KOREAN VISIT: AGREEMENTS ON POWER PLANT, NEW HOSPITAL AND TRADE

President Ts.Elbegdorj’s visit to South Korea is in its second day. Today, the Presidents of the two countries signed an official agreement, in the framework of which, the Mongolian Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Health and Sport and the General Authority for Inspection have signed a memorandum of co-operation with the South Korean Inspection Agency.

According to the agreement, Mongolian semi-processed products can now cross into South Korean without any obstacles, as long as they have a custom’s document. In the energy sector, in accordance with the agreement between the Ministries of Finance of the two countries, a USD 300 million power plant will be built in Mongolia.

There will also be a new direct air route between Ulaanbaatar and Busan which is South Korea’s second largest city.  Finally, a “South Korea hospital” by will be opened in Mongolia; therefore, people will no longer need to go abroad for medical treatment.
