Home News GOVERNMENT HOLDS SIDE EVENT AT UNESCAP SESSION IN THAILAND GOVERNMENT HOLDS SIDE EVENT AT UNESCAP SESSION IN THAILAND Government of Mongolia organized Wednesday an event called “The Belt and Road Initiative: Corridor towards Sustainable Development” during the 72nd session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific continuing in Bangkok, Thailand. Experts and researchers, delegates from China, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries attended the event which targeted at facilitating discussion among panelists from Asian landlocked developing countries who shared their national development trajectories and explored options in adjusting their development strategies to maximize potential benefits and mitigate risks resulting from the Belt and Road initiative. The State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Gankhuyag made the opening remarks at the event, and director of the Ministry’s Division of Economic Cooperation Yo.Manlaibaatar delivered a report on impacts of the Belt and Road Initiative on the Mongolian economy which was launched with support from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
