MONGOLIA TO COLLABORATE WITH GERMANY IN ENVIRONMENTAL SPHERE

Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism N.Battsereg; and head of the Ministry’s Department of Pure Technologies G.Nyamdavaa met Thursday with business delegates of Saarland State of Germany, who are taking part in the “Expo Mongolia 2016” trade fair in Ulaanbaatar.

The Minister said the hosted in UB for the 4th year Expo Mongolia-2016 enables foreign investors to get familiar with Mongolia and to seek cooperation opportunities with their Mongolian counterparts.

The sides expressed their willingness to launch cooperation in environmental reclamation after mining exploration, saving biological diversity, sustainable development of forestry and utilization of underground heat sources.

N.Battsereg pointed out that the Mongolian Ministry plans to hold a joint workshop on environmental recalation after mining and re-forestation in collaboration with the German Ministry in September of 2016. The sides agreed to co-organize a symposium on renewable energy in 2017.
