Home News MONGOLIAN, RUSSIAN AND CHINESE PRESIDENTS TO SIGN TRANSIT AGREEMENT MONGOLIAN, RUSSIAN AND CHINESE PRESIDENTS TO SIGN TRANSIT AGREEMENT The members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be meeting for a two-day conference in the Uzbek capital Tashkent. Today (23rd June), a trilateral summit of the presidents of Mongolia, China, and Russia, will be held on the sidelines of the SCO conference, the theme of which will be trade and transit. Following these discussions a trilateral transport agreement will be signed. In addition, the presidents of these three countries will approve a programme to create an economic corridor linking China, Mongolia and Russia. Naturally, Mongolia is the central link in this transit chain. Transit transport issues have regularly been discussed by Mongolia with its two neighbours. The conference will last from June 23rd until 24th. China and Russia are SCO members; Mongolia, however, has SCO observer status. Source:http://www.news.mn/r/306691
