Home News GAZPROM SUPPLYING LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS TO MONGOLIA GAZPROM SUPPLYING LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS TO MONGOLIA Mongolia began to receive constant supply of natural gas from the Russian Federation. Specifically, on November 4, 2019, Gazprom Export delivered the first batch of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Mongolia to be used as a vehicle fuel in municipal transport in the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. The batch weighed 36 tons. Yesterday, on December 4, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh, who is on official visit to the Russian Federation. The parties discussed the prospects of the cooperation. It was also noted that in November 2019, Gazprom Export carried out the first small-scale delivery of Russian liquefied natural gas to Mongolia. In connection with advancing bilateral relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Russian LNG is being supplied to Mongolia according to an intergovernmental agreement established between the two countries. ‘UB Metan’ LLC is a purchaser of liquefied natural gas from Mongolia and it established an agreement with Gazprom company to buy 8000 tons of natural gas in 2020.
