UB MAYOR FORMS DEPARTMENT FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

A revised structure and composition of the UB City Government was adopted last week. The new Mayor S.Batbold noted that his office pursued a principle of increasing the number of jobs and promoting employment in the four  years to come.

The vacancies of Deputy Mayors have been reduced from 6 to 4. They will be mainly in charge of the Reduction of Unemployment and Poverty, Ger-Area Development and Social policy, Infrastructure Development, and of Green Development and Reduction of Air Pollution.

In regard to the fact that young people aged 16-35 make up 34% of the total population of Ulaanbaatar, the Mayor has decided to set up a Department for Development of the Youth. Another new department of the City Government is the Department for Industry and Innovation.

The City Government has set a goal to have at least one person in each household get a job.
