Home News MONGOLIAN CULTURAL CENTER OPENS IN JAKARTA MONGOLIAN CULTURAL CENTER OPENS IN JAKARTA A Mongolian Cultural Center opened in Tanjung Lesung, a special tourism region of Indonesia, on November 26. Tejang Lesung is the peninsula with some of the most beautiful islands of Java. The opening ceremony coincided with the official celebration by the diplomatic mission the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Mongolia and Indonesia. The center has been initiated by the Mongolian Embassy in Jakarta, President of Jababeka Group and Mongolia’s Cultural Envoy to Indonesia Setiono Juandi Darmono. The Ambassador of Mongolia, Ms Sh.Battsetseg and Director General of the Jababeka Group Budianto Liman delivered the opening remarks. Present were also, the head of Indonesia-Mongolia group in the Indonesian parliament and vice minister of Tourism and International Marketing of Indonesia. The Mongolian Ambassador underlined that this is one of the series of actions that have been taking place in commemoration of the historic anniversary. The center opens up a wide opportunity to ies visitor to learn more about the Mongolian traditional dwelling Ger, which was inscribed in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritages, Mongolian nomads’ history, culture and lifestyle, Mongolian spring games and cuisine, she introduced. The inauguration ceremony was held in presence of the staff of Mongolian diplomatic mission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of Tourism of Indonesia, deputies of the House of Representatives (Parliament), ambassadors of other countries to Indonesia, and Mongolians living in Indonesia.
