IMF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR NIGEL RAY VISITS MONGOLIA

President of the Bank of Mongolia N.Bayartsaikhan received Mr. Nigel Ray, Executive Director representing Mongolia in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board of Governors on June 18.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. N.Bayartsaikhan expressed gratitude for visiting Mongolia and emphasized the IMF’s great contribution to economic and social development of the country. He mentioned about the successful implementation and positive outcomes of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). Despite the delay due to technical issues, the program is expected to continue normally, he noted.

Current state, future tendencies and challenges of Mongolian economy was introduced during the meeting and the sides exchanged views on the outcomes of the EFF and issues of further concern.

Mr. Nigel Ray said that the statistics show the effectiveness of the program and emphasized the importance of maintaining current achievements in banking sector, budget discipline and monetary policy, expressing willingness to further support the program implementation.
