NATIONWIDE HARVESTING REPORTED WITH ABUNDANT YIELDS

A preliminary report on harvesting of 2019 released by Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry shows that a total of 424 thousand tons of grains were harvested. 

Harvesting has completed nationwide, cropping 407 thousand tons of wheat, 191 thousand tons of potato, 95 thousand tons of vegetables, 120 thousand tons of fodder plants and 35 thousand tons of oil plants.

Compared to previous years, harvesting process was smoothened up late this year, in particular, from September 15 due to extreme heat of June and heavy precipitation of August, which led to late maturity of crops. 

During the spring sowing 2019, 512.0 thousand hectares were cultivated for crop.
