Tugrug Deposits Increase by MNT 5.7 Trillion

Ulaanbaatar, September 28, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Tugrug deposits reached a preliminary MNT 28.8 trillion at the end of August this year.

According to the National Statistics Office, this marks an increase of 24.9%, or MNT 5.7 trillion, compared to the same period last year. However, it represents a slight decrease of 0.1%, or MNT 16.4 billion, from the previous month.

Of the total tugrug deposits, individuals held 82.3%, or MNT 23.7 trillion, while enterprises and organizations accounted for the remaining 17.7%, or MNT 5.1 trillion.

Meanwhile, foreign currency deposits stood at MNT 5 trillion. This is a decrease of 8.2% or MNT 446.9 billion year-on-year and a drop of 1.4% or MNT 70.2 billion from the previous month.
