Gold Prices Up 59 Percent Since Start of 2025

Ulaanbaatar, January 7, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Gold prices have risen by 59 percent since the beginning of 2025. While gold traded at USD 2,638.88 per ounce in December 2024, the price increased to USD 4,310.45 per ounce by December 2025.

 

According to the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the price of the yellow metal rose to USD 2,711.28 per ounce in January 2025. Since then, gold has continued to strengthen, setting new historical highs on 50 occasions.

 

 

In 2026, gold prices are expected to post an average increase of 6 percent, reaching USD 4,900 per ounce, according to forecasts by "Goldman Sachs", the world’s largest investment bank and financial services company headquartered in the United States.
