Bank of Mongolia Purchases 16.3 Tonnes of Precious Metals in 2025

Ulaanbaatar, January 5, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The Bank of Mongolia purchased 2,775.4 kilograms of precious metals in December 2025, bringing total purchases for the year to 16.3 tonnes.

 

Of the December total, the bank’s branch in Darkhan-Uul aimag purchased 880.5 kilograms, while the Bayankhongor branch purchased 1,950.3 kilograms of precious metals. This represents a 0.7 percent decrease year-over-year. The Bank of Mongolia sets its precious metal purchase prices in line with global market prices. In December, the average purchase price of gold stood at MNT 490,374.67 per gram.

 

 

Overall, the Bank purchased 16.3 tonnes of precious metals in 2025.
