Tugrug Deposits Reach MNT 23 Trillion

Ulaanbaatar, September 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Tugrug deposits reached MNT 23 trillion at the end of August 2025, up MNT 2.8 trillion (13.9 percent) from the same period of 2024 and MNT 14.1 billion (0.1 percent) from the previous month.

According to the National Statistics Office of Mongolia, MNT 20 trillion (87 percent) of the deposits belong to individuals, while MNT 3 trillion (13 percent) belong to enterprises and organizations.

Foreign currency deposits have also reached MNT 5.4 trillion, increasing by MNT 923.1 billion (20.5 percent) compared to the same period of 2024 and by MNT 0.6 billion (0.01 percent) from the previous month.

Meanwhile, cash in circulation stood at MNT 1.2 trillion at the end of last month, a decrease of MNT 4.9 billion (0.4 percent) compared to the same period of 2024 and MNT 24.1 billion (1.9 percent) from the previous month, according to preliminary results.
