First-Stage Tender for the Ulaanbaatar Metro Project Receives Submissions from 27 Companies

Ulaanbaatar, April 30, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Bids for the first stage of the tender to select a construction contractor for the Ulaanbaatar City Metro Project were opened on April 28, 2025.

 

Twenty-seven companies from seven countries, including Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, the French Republic, the Republic of India, and the People's Republic of China, submitted proposals. Under the law, the second-stage tender will be announced on May 5, 2025. The metro line will run from Tolgoit to Amgalan.

 

The Ulaanbaatar Metro line will stretch 19.4 km and comprise 15 stations. It is planned to carry 17,206 passengers per hour, with an average station spacing of 1.3 km. The end-to-end journey from Tolgoit to Amgalan is projected to take 31 minutes and 25 seconds, and the successful implementation of the project could raise the city’s average traffic speed by 40.4 percent.

 

The Ulaanbaatar Metro Project is one of 24 mega-projects of Ulaanbaatar to implement between 2025 and 2028.
