The online auction for coal is held weekly, with 2.9 million tons of coking coal, 6.5 million tons of semi-soft coking coal, and 1.4 million tons of thermal coal, a total of 10.8 million tons of coal traded for USD 1.25 billion, reported “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC. To implement the policy of the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the Government of Mongolia to boost cross-border trading and increase the inflow of foreign currency, the Mongolian Mineral Exchange was established in February 2023. Currently, “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC has held 92 exchanges and traded 20.5 million tons of coal with USD 2.5 billion.
