The General Election Commission of Mongolia handed over temporary identity cards of a Member of the State Great Khural to 126 newly elected candidates as a result of the 2024 regular Election of the State Great Khural of Mongolia on July 1, 2024. At the Ceremony, the Chairman of the General Election Commission of Mongolia Delgernaran Purvee noted, “The 2024 regular Election of the State Great Khural of Mongolia was successfully held on June 28, 2024, with 69.85 percent voter turnout. The people of Mongolia elected 126 Members of the State Great Khural for the first time by a mixed electoral system according to the amendments made to the Constitution of Mongolia. The 2024 regular election was special as it covered a wide range of organizational and legal issues." The 2024 regular election is legally valid as it was conducted in compliance with the Constitution of Mongolia, the Law on the State Great Khural of Mongolia, and other relevant laws. Under Section 74.5 of Article 74 of the Law on the Election of the State Great Khural, the General Election Commission of Mongolia held a meeting on June 30, 2024, and decided to consider 78 candidates with the highest votes within the mandates given to their respective constituencies and 48 eligible candidates in the party or coalition list by the percentage of votes for political parties and coalitions as Members of the State Great Khural and issue the identity cards of MP.
