Mongolia-US Meeting Explores Collaboration in Food and Agriculture

Ulaanbaatar, May 16, 2024 /MONTSAME/. B. Sanchirdorj, the Head of the Inspection Authority Department of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia, met with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia on May 15, 2024.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Sanchirdorj shared insights into the current status of Mongolia’s livestock sector, recent disasters, and the initiation of the “New Cooperative - Wealthy Herder” Program in 2024. He exchanged views on the potential collaboration in the food, agriculture, and light industry sectors between Mongolia and the United States and proposed welcoming U.S. agricultural enterprises to Mongolia in October 2024.

Furthermore, the representatives expressed their interest in importing additional fodder and food products from the United States to Mongolia. They also affirmed the readiness of enterprises in the US agriculture sector to collaborate with Mongolia.
