Mongolia-Hungary Direct Flights on the Horizon

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Under the Official Visit of Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav to Hungary, Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia Byambatsogt Sandag signed an Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of Hungary on Aviation Relations on March 9, 2024. The Agreement paved the way for direct flights between Mongolia and Hungary, a route that had been discussed for 30 years.

The Agreement opened new doors for the aviation, tourism, and business sectors. Approximately 30 thousand Mongolian citizens residing in Eastern Europe, including Hungary, will be able to travel directly to their home country without needing to transfer through multiple countries. Passengers from Mongolia traveling to European Union countries only via flights through Frankfurt and Istanbul can benefit from reduced travel time and flight costs.

Hungary is the 44th country with which Mongolia established an agreement on aviation relations.
