Home News BUSINESS OWNERS RECEIVE ADVICE ON ENTERING JAPANESE MARKET BUSINESS OWNERS RECEIVE ADVICE ON ENTERING JAPANESE MARKET Representatives of the Shizuoka Prefecture Economy and Industry Department, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Japanese business owners held a meeting with representatives of Mongolian business owners on August 8-9. Under the theme, ‘Partnership opportunities for Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan and Mongolian business owners’, the seminar meeting was jointly organized by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund, and Export International Trade Center (EITC). During the meeting, the sides discussed economic partnership between Mongolia and Japan, and business opportunities. The Mongolian business owners also received advice on entering the Japanese market. Located in central Japan, Shizuoka Prefecture has advanced development in land, sea, and air transport infrastructure, with specialties in transport equipment, electronics, foods and drinks, tobacco and the chemical industry. The prefecture signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Dornogobi aimag in 2011. Head of Department of SME and Cooperative Policy Implementation of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ya.Erdenesaikhan and Director of the SME Development Fund B.Battsetseg also introduced the current state of economic partnership between Mongolia and Japan, future goals, and how the Mongolian SMEs aim to develop their production for export. Aside from mining products, the main products being exported from Mongolia to the Japanese market are products from the agricultural, farming and animal husbandry sector. The participants highlighted that the statistics showing products worth JPY 57.2 billion imported, and JPY 3.6 billion exported to Japan shows the full potential for Mongolian entities to enter the Japanese market.
