CENTRAL BANK PURCHASES 22.9 TONS OF PRECIOUS METAL IN 2022

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Bank of Mongolia purchased 22.9 tons of precious metal last year.

 

 

In December 2022, the central bank purchased 3,032.2 kg of precious metals, and its gross purchases totaled 22.9 tons, up 10 percent from the previous year.

 

This year, Darkhan-Uul regional division purchased 3,264.9 kg, and Bayankhongor regional branch purchased 1,436.0 kg of precious metals.

 

The Bank of Mongolia sets the purchase price of precious metals based on the global market price.  As of December, the average purchase price was MNT 207,625 (60 U.S. dollars) per gram.
