CAMPAIGN FOR WORLD TOURISM DAY STARTS

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. In anticipation of World Tourism Day, a campaign to promote the tourism industry began on September 12 in Mongolia. World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27 every year. This year's World Tourism Day will be marked under the motto ‘Rethinking Tourism’. UNWTO submitted the slogan after taking into account the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic difficulties. As a member state of the UNWTO, Mongolia supports the call of the international organization. For the upcoming celebration, Mongolia has launched a nationwide campaign to promote the tourism industry until September 27, reported the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

As part of the campaign, the Ministry plans to present the present state of tourism industry, services and products including air transportation, hotels, tourist camps, national cuisine, and hospitality services.

About 168 thousand foreign tourists came to Mongolia this summer, and most of them were tourists from Russia.
