‘INCLUSIVE GREEN FINANCE’ TO BE CONTINUED UNDER AFI’S IN COUNTRY-IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. D. Bayarsaikhan, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, met with Dr. Alfred Hannig, Executive Director of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). During the meeting, they exchanged insights on further cooperation between the AFI and the FRC and AFI’s priority policies toward financial inclusion.

They discussed the collaboration in increasing the inclusion of local people living in rural areas, as their access to finance and financial literacy vary depending on the geographical location in Mongolia. In particular, they agreed to continue the ‘Inclusive Green Finance’ under the AFI’s in-country-implementation project; implement technical assistance projects in improving women-sensitive financial inclusion and increasing their participation in microfinance institutions; and cooperate in increasing financial access through fintech, diversifying financial services and increasing efficiency.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Alfred Hannig expressed his gratitude to the FRC Mongolia, for its commitments and active participation to advance financial inclusion. He also wished for the greatest possible success and achievements in the next ECAPI meeting to be held in 2023 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
