MINING MINISTER MEETS GERMAN AMBASSADOR

Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry G.Yondon today met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Jorn Rosenberg and Country Director of GIZ Daniel Passon and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the mining sector.

 

Emphasizing that the Government of Mongolia has decided to fully open its border to fully vaccinated foreign investors and tourists, Minister G.Yondon briefed on the Government’s ‘New Revival Policy’.

 

He noted that it is planned to accelerate the development of processing plants and the production and export of value-added products and have the parliament approve the relevant draft laws such as the Law on Heavy Industry, the Law on the National Wealth Fund, and the Law on Mining Products Exchange within the framework of the ‘New Revival Policy’.

 

The Minister also put forth a request to the GIZ to support and cooperate in the development of accompanying regulations for the Law on Mining Products Exchange which is planned to be discussed during the forthcoming spring session of the parliament.

 

Expressing gratitude for being informed of the aforementioned draft laws, Ambassador Jorn Rosenberg voiced his readiness to enhance cooperation in the mining sector.
