13 THOUSAND TONS OF FREIGHT IMPORTED THROUGH ZAMIIN-UUD BORDER CHECKPOINT

At the regular meeting of the Cabinet today on January 26, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan introduced the measures being taken to enhance the operations of Zamiin-Uud border checkpoint and accelerate freight transport. 

13,496 tons of freight have been brought into the country in 816 containers since freight transport has resumed at Zamiin-Uud - Erlian autoroad checkpoint. Talks are underway with the side of China to increase the amount of freight being transported.

In order to reduce the load of the border checkpoints, works are also being carried out to have freight be imported through the border checkpoints of Gashuunsukhait, Khangi, and Bulgan. Moreover, studies are being carried out to establish a zone to exchange containers at the Khangi-Mandal border checkpoint, he noted.
