NATIONAL CURRENCY IN CIRCULATION REACHES MNT1.1 TRILLION AT THE END OF NOVEMBER

According to the preliminary results, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 1.1 trillion at the end of November 2021, decreased by MNT 2.2 billion (0.2 percent) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 137.6 billion (14.5 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of November 2021, the time deposit in domestic currency amounted to MNT 14.9 trillion, increased by MNT 46.1 billion (0.3 percent) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 2.5 trillion (20.1 percent) from the same period of the previous year. In terms of the type of time deposit in domestic currency, 88.7 percent (MNT 13.3 trillion) was individuals’ deposits and 11.3 percent (MNT 1.7 trillion) was deposits of enterprises.

The time deposits in foreign currency amounted to MNT 4.1 trillion, increased by MNT 81.5 billion (2.0 percent) from the previous month, and decreased by MNT 707.8 billion (14.8 percent) from the same period of the previous year.
