PRELIMINARY RESULT OF HARVEST REPORTED

At today’s regular Cabinet meeting, preliminary result of the nationwide harvest for 2021 was presented.

According to the preliminary result, 605.6 thousand tons of grain (of which 567 thousand tons of wheat), 181.5 thousand tons of potatoes, 118.6 thousand tons of vegetables, 302.5 thousand tons of fodder plants and 53.6 thousand tons of oil plants were harvested.  It means the harvest volume reaches the level, the country had harvested in 1989-1990. Compared to the previous year’s, this year's harvest has been much higher: grain by 173 thousand tons, wheat by 155.8 thousand tons, fodder plants by 130.8 thousand, oil plants by 32.3 thousand tons and vegetables by 3.6 thousand tons.

For flour production, some 300,000 tons of food wheat will be bought from the new crop. In terms of total wheat reserves, domestically grown wheat is sufficient to produce the flour needed for 2021-2022.
