DEPOSITS IN FOREIGN CURRENCY DECREASED BY 15.4 PERCENT FROM PREVIOUS YEAR

According to the preliminary results, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 1.1 trillion at the end of October 2021, increased by MNT 30.4 billion (2.9 percent) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 127.6 billion (13.3 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

 

At the end of October 2021, the time deposit in domestic currency amounted to MNT 15.2 trillion, increased by MNT 30.2 billion (0.2 percent) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 3.1 trillion (25.6 percent) from the same period of the previous year. In terms of the type of time deposit in domestic currency, 88.6 percent (MNT 13.4 trillion) was individuals’ deposits and 11.4 percent (MNT 1.7 trillion) was deposits of enterprises.

 

The time deposits in foreign currency amounted to MNT 4.1 trillion, decreased by MNT 3.2 billion (0.1 percent) from the previous month, and decreased by MNT 744.7 billion (15.4 percent) from the same period of the previous year.
