According to the preliminary result of the first 7 months of 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 10.8 trillion, increased by MNT 2.6 trillion (32.4%) from the same period of the previous year. This increase was mainly due to MNT 1.9 trillion (34.5%) increase in mining and quarrying gross output and MNT 649.6 billion (34.8%) increase in manufacturing output. Also, the electricity, thermal energy and water supply production output increased by MNT 77.9 billion (11.0%) and the water supply, and sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities production output increased by MNT 12.2 billion (15.8%) from the same period of the previous year. In the first 7 months of 2021, the mining and quarrying sector, extraction copper concentrate, iron ore, brown coal, hard coal, fluorspar and crude oil increased by 2.5 percent to 2.5 times compared to the same period of the previous year. In the manufacturing sector, production of wheat flour, copper cathode 99%, combed cashmere, cement, alcoholic beverage, lime, milk, coal briquette, metal steel, meat, cigarettes and concentrated coal increased by 3.3 percent to 2.5 times compared to the same period of the previous year. In July 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.4 trillion, decreased by MNT 154.4 billion (9.7%) from the previous month. This decrease was mainly due to MNT 151.6 billion (33.1%) decrease in manufacturing output. In July 2021, the mining and quarrying gross output reached MNT 1.0 trillion, increased by MNT 34.1 billion (3.4%) from the same period of the previous year. This increase was mainly due to increases in the mining of metal ores by MNT 98.4 billion (13.7%) and extraction of crude petroleum by MNT 42.9 billion (2.2 times) from the same period of the previous year.
