Home News SDG-ALIGNED BUDGETING TO TRANSFORM EMPLOYMENT IN MONGOLIA’ PROJECT TEAM WORKS IN AIMAGS SDG-ALIGNED BUDGETING TO TRANSFORM EMPLOYMENT IN MONGOLIA’ PROJECT TEAM WORKS IN AIMAGS As part of the European Union funded project called ‘SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia’, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized consultation meetings on August 18, 2021 with B.Ariunaa, Deputy Governor of Zavkhan province, and N.Batbayar, Director of Food and Agriculture Agency to support youth employment in the province. In addition, the project team met with meat, dairy and vegetable value chain local representatives of the province to seek cooperation opportunities with the private sector to develop the national brand of the province. The Zavkhan province management expressed their support and assistance in the successful implementation of the project. On August 16, 2021, FAO organized the consultation meetings with T.Delgersaikhan, Deputy Governor of Khovd province, B.Bayarsukhh, Head of Investment, Development Policy and Planning Department of The Governor’s Office of Khovd province, B.Byambajav, Director of Food and Agriculture Agency, and, meat, dairy and vegetable value chain local representatives of the province. The Khovd province management expressed also their support and assistance in the successful implementation of the project. ‘SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia’ project will be jointly implemented by the UNDP as technical lead, FAO and the ILO. This larger project is complementary to the first-ever Budget Support Programme in Employment Reforms that the European Union has signed with the Government of Mongolia and it will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Labor and Social Protection on EU grant of EUR 50.8 million.
