Home News ACTION PLAN FOR 2021 OF SUSTAINABLE VEGETABLE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING PROJECT APPROVED ACTION PLAN FOR 2021 OF SUSTAINABLE VEGETABLE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING PROJECT APPROVED The Steering Committee meeting of the Sustainable Vegetable Production and Marketing (Mongolian Vegetable - VEGI) project funded by the Swiss Cooperation in Mongolia was held online to discuss achievements from 2020 and the action plan for 2021. The meeting was attended by T.Jambaltseren, State Secretary of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry (MOFALI), Ts.Bolorchuluun, Head of Policy and Planning Department of the MOFALI, Vinod Ahuja, Head of FAO, Benoit Meyer-Bisch, Deputy Head of Swiss of Cooperation in Mongolia as well as other 11 members and project specialists. The main phase of the project was successfully implemented from April 2016 to August 2020, and the exit phase of the project will be implemented from August 2020 to July 2023. The exit phase of the project focuses on ensuring the sustainability and structural capacity of the project. As a result of the first phase of the project, vegetable seed production has increased and domestic seed production of main crops has reached 100%. This is the result of the partnership of the Ministry of Agriculture, FAO and SDC highlighted Benoit Meyer-Bisch, Deputy Head of the Swiss Cooperation Office. The parties expressed their gratitude for the successful launch of the vegetable origin certificate and the introduction of good agricultural practices in production. In the exit phase of the project, the Swiss Cooperation in Mongolia is focusing on supporting the Mongolian Farmers’ Association for Rural Development, the project implementing partner with more than 1200 members representing vegetable farmers, to enhance its financial and organizational capacity and good governance.
