SAVINGS IN DOMESTIC CURRENCY RISE BY 26.5 PERCENT FROM LAST YEAR

The national currency in circulation reached MNT 1.0 trillion at the end of February 2021, increased by MNT 19.3 billion (1.9%) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 59.5 billion (6.2%) from the same period of the previous year.

 

At the end of February 2021, the time deposit in domestic currency amounted to MNT 14.0 trillion, increased by MNT 332.0 billion (2.4%) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 2.9 trillion (26.5%) from the same period of the previous year. In the total time deposit in domestic currency, 88.6% (MNT 12.4 trillion) was individuals’ deposits and 11.4 percent (MNT 1.6 trillion) was deposits of enterprises.

The time deposits in foreign currency amounted to MNT 4.4 trillion, decreased by MNT 223.4 billion (4.9%) from the previous month, but increased by MNT 713.0 billion (19.5%) from the same period of the previous year.
