FODDER AID DELIVERED TO AIMAGS FACING HARSH WINTER CONDITIONS

A team led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Jambaltseren and Resident Representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Mongolia Vinod Ahuja worked in Uvurkhangai, Bayankhongor, and Gobi-Altai aimags that are facing severe wintering on January 17-19 to deliver fodder aid. They also assessed the current situation and hay and fodder sufficiency in the areas.

 

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and FAO are providing around MNT 640-905 thousand aid of 460-835 kg fodder, sufficient for feeding livestock that require additional feeding up to 60 days to each one of 1,000 vulnerable herder households in 53 soums of Bayankhongor, Dundgobi, Uvurkhangai, Tuv, Arkhangai, and Gobi-Altai aimags as part of a technical assistance project they are implementing. Food and Agriculture department of the above-mentioned aimags are now working to deliver the aid from Ulaanbaatar.
