In his opening speech, Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry Z.Mendsaikhan said, “The Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry is currently implementing 6 large scale projects with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and over 20 technical cooperation projects including those implemented with non-refundable aid in partnership with some 10 international organizations. Regulation and proper mechanism is necessary to be developed to effectively implement the projects, enhance their results, and create correlation. Long-term joint regulation is required for the aforementioned projects and programmes to be implemented in 2020-2025.” Alongside holding a discussion on ways to create correlation between the projects and programmes being implemented in Mongolia and enhancing their results, information was also shared regarding the Green Gold Animal Health project being jointly implemented with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), projects and programmes being implemented by the EU as well as a project soon to be implemented by UNDP with financing from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The meeting was attended by Minister Z.Mendsaikhan, State Secretary T.Jambaltseren, Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel, Resident Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Mongolia Vinod Ahuja, ADB Country Director for Mongolia Pavit Ramachandran and corresponding officials.
