CERTIFICATE PRESENTED FOR NATIONAL OLYMPIC UNIFORM DESIGN FOR TOKYO-2020

Designs of sports and ceremonial clothes for Mongolian athletes who take part in Tokyo Olympics have been selected. Of the 10 designers that sent in their design concepts, the design by ‘Michel & Amazonka’ LLC has been selected and signed on an agreement to have the right to manufacture the sports and ceremonial uniforms.

In correlation to the Government of Mongolia announcing the year of 2019 as the year for purchasing domestically produced products in aims of creating a ‘Mongolian brand’ and supporting domestic factories, a competition was announced among professional designers and companies of Mongolia to define a brand look that expresses national heritage, culture as well as modern development through the national team of athletes.

Previously in August 2018, the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports signed an agreement with the Japanese brand Mizuno to have the brand’s sports clothing be the daily training clothes for the national team of athletes.

The Ministry reported that a total of MNT 394.3 million will be financed from the Tokyo Olympic Foundation for the costs of the uniforms of the national team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
