Home News WINTER AND SPRING PREPARATIONS OF AGRICULTURE SECTOR 74 PERCENT COMPLETE WINTER AND SPRING PREPARATIONS OF AGRICULTURE SECTOR 74 PERCENT COMPLETE At its regular meeting on November 25, the Cabinet ordered governors at all levels to speed up preparations of livestock fodder for this winter and spring, governors of some aimags to earmark funds necessary for delivering healthcare and other government services to transhumant herders and set up local transhumance management committees, and aimag police departments and governors to prevent livestock theft and social disorder in transhumant areas. Approximately 11.7 million head of livestock of 26.6 thousand herder households will be moved to temporary grazing grounds this winter and spring. Aimags, the capital city, soums, and districts should have 60 thousand tons of hay and 16.5 thousand tons of fodder in their reserves, of which over 40 percent has been stockpiled so far.
