900 THOUSAND TONS OF LIVESTOCK FODDER PREPARED BY HERDERS

This year, herders have prepared a total of 1 million tons of hay and 900,000 tons of fodder for livestock animals, with an increased amount of straw feeding, green fodder, hand made fodder, silage and salt natural feeding than planned, reports the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry. Moreover, 20,000 tons of green fodder were made at fodder processing factories.

Summering in six aimags nationwide was in poor conditions, experiencing drought, and caused insufficiency of fodders and grasses for livestock on grazing lands for wintering. Therefore, farmers have provided 40,000 ha area of farming land with immature crops for fodder preparation.

Final details for livestock fodder and grass production are expected to be released by the Ministry after November 20.
